Almost two thirds of the world’s population experiences severe water scarcity for at least one month each year, and over two billion people live in countries where the water supply is inadequate. This is our motivation for promoting innovative and sustainable solutions for the world that help to conserve and optimize this precious resource.
Water connects every facet of life – it is essential for human survival, agriculture, industry, and ecosystems. Yet, growing populations, climate change, and unsustainable consumption patterns pose significant threats to its availability and quality.
Sustainability in water management means balancing the needs of today while safeguarding this resource for future generations.

Aquestia – committed to supporting a more sustainable future
As a provider of cutting-edge water management solutions that reduce its use, protect it from contamination, and prevent leaks, we are contributing to a more sustainable future. Our approach integrates advanced technology, innovative design, and sustainable practices to address the entire water cycle, from sourcing, conveyancing and usage, to treatment and reuse. By improving efficiency and reducing waste, we help our customers to minimize their water footprint, and enhance the resilience of communities around the world against water-related challenges.
Aligning with the UN SDGs
At Aquestia, we are focused on fostering a mindset where innovation and sustainability coexist. Through our work advancing innovative sustainable water management solutions, we align our services with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6: Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all.
As a developer of cutting-edge technology and patented solutions that focus on enhancing the resilience and efficiency of infrastructure, we are also aligned with SDG 9: Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation.
Our Commitment to the Planet
Our mission at Aquestia is to promote responsible resource management in response to the global climate challenges. Our products protect the environment by preventing contamination, saving energy and reducing water use. In development, manufacturing, and marketing, we adhere to stringent sustainability standards – like the Clear Air Act and ISO 14001 – to minimize our carbon footprint. We focus on zero pollution, waste reduction, water conservation, energy efficiency, recycling, and sustainable products packaging, and materials wherever possible.
The company has set reduction targets for Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions, as detailed below:
- 23% overall reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by end of 2028
- 28% reduction in Scope 1 emissions, based on the transition to electric vehicles by the end of 2028
- 15% reduction in Scope 2 emissions, based on the installation of solar panels at the Southern site by the end of 2028
We actively address the end-of-life management of our metal products by ensuring they are recycled. For our plastic products, we are exploring enhanced recycling options. In addition, in 2025 we further enhanced the sustainability of our packaging by transitioning from foam bags to bubble wrap, reducing environmental impact and improving recyclability, while ensuring full product protection. It is important to note that all of the company’s external product packaging is made of cardboard or wood, making it fully recyclable.
As a company dedicated to improving water resource management for our customers, we implement various measures to reduce water consumption. These include utilizing a closed-loop system in our test wells for water recovery, transitioning to static valves – an improvement that also enhances energy efficiency – and closely monitoring water usage to identify opportunities for further conservation.
To minimize fuel consumption, we are committed to transitioning to electric vehicles as part of our company policy. To support our employees in making this transition, we offer financial assistance for the installation of home charging stations, ensuring a smoother and more accessible shift to sustainable transportation.
In 2025, the transition to electric vehicles led to a saving of approximately 41,200 liters of gasoline, offset by an additional electricity consumption of around 101,100 kWh, resulting in a reduction of around 41,700 kg in the company’s greenhouse gas emissions.
In 2024, we conducted a comprehensive analysis and performance measurements to assess the potential benefits of replacing our compressors. The findings confirmed significant electricity savings, with a return on investment expected within less than three years. As a result, the project was officially launched in 2025.
Currently, 70% of the lighting at our key sites consists of energy-efficient LED bulbs. We are committed to continuing this transition by replacing bulbs during all routine maintenance activities.
In mid-2025, the installation of solar panels on the roof of our southern site was completed. The rooftop solar system now supplies approximately 16% of the site’s total electricity consumption. This initiative contributes to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and supports Aquestia’s ongoing progress toward achieving its sustainability and climate targets.
We actively promote environmental awareness among our employees. Through regular communications and educational materials, we encourage responsible energy use and the reduction of overall resource consumption.
In our key sites, we advance this commitment through a range of employee-focused environmental initiatives, including the use of digital forms for trainings, surveys, and questionnaires (using App-questia); providing reusable cups and bottles to reduce single-use waste; and installing dedicated recycling stations across our sites.
Our People
At Aquestia, we are committed to upholding human rights, fostering fair employment practices, and creating an inclusive workplace where every employee is valued and empowered. We champion diversity, ensure equal opportunities for all, and invest in professional growth through continuous learning and development programs. By promoting a culture of respect, fairness, and inclusion, we strive to create a supportive environment where employees can thrive and contribute to a better future for both our company and the communities we serve.
This commitment is also reflected in our Code of Ethics and the guidelines that guide our managers and employees.
We manage human resources and organizational culture based on several key pillars:
Listening to our People
We believe in ongoing dialogue with our employees to foster continuous learning, transparency, and improvement. For internal communication, we use App-Questia and conduct periodic employee surveys. As part of these efforts, we recently carried out an organization-wide survey with a participation rate of approximately 65%, providing valuable insights into employee perceptions and our organizational climate.
Despite the challenging circumstances of the past two years, the survey results showed meaningful positive trends. Scores for “My Manager” increased from 4.33 to 4.35, and “Connected to the Organization” rose from 4.07 to 4.20 – both reflecting small yet significant improvements in areas that are typically difficult to shift.
We also prioritize face-to-face interactions, maintaining an open-door policy and holding quarterly round-table sessions at each site with employee representatives to encourage open dialogue, address concerns, and ensure immediate follow-up by our HR team. In addition, once a year the company’s CEO presents a business review to all employees.
To further strengthen transparency and keep everyone informed, we publish a company newsletter every two months, featuring key updates and highlights from across the organization.
Fair Employment
We respect all our employees and strictly prohibit child labor, forced labor, and human trafficking. Every employee is entitled to fair compensation for their work, along with paid vacation days in accordance with local laws and specific contractual agreements.
To ensure employees exercise their right to take leave, we conduct quarterly reviews to monitor leave day accumulation. Additionally, we are committed to providing salaries that exceed the legally mandated minimum wage. While salaries vary based on role and experience, our company policy ensures that the minimum salary at Aquestia is at least 5% higher than the national minimum wage.
We have a profit-sharing bonus program that is distributed to all employees, along with acknowledgment bonuses and outstanding employee awards to recognize exceptional performance. Additionally, we offer specific bonuses for production employees, including incentives for full attendance, shift work, and more.
We adhere to our Compensation Policy and ensure transparency by clearly communicating these benefits, along with work hours, overtime, rest days, and vacation entitlements, to all employees.
Employee Health and Safety
In the manufacturing industry, ensuring employee safety and minimizing environmental impact are essential for long-term success. A strong commitment to Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) practices not only safeguards workers but also ensures regulatory compliance, reduces operational risks, and enhances a company’s reputation.
We prioritize the health and safety of our employees above all else. We adhere to the ISO 45001 standard and implement comprehensive safety procedures, preventive equipment, and regular training. Additionally, we provide health insurance and medical check-ups to ensure employee well-being.
To effectively manage EHS initiatives, many factories rely on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as the Total Case Incident Rate (TCIR) and the Lost Days Incident Rate (LDIR). These metrics provide valuable data to track performance, identify areas for improvement, and drive continuous progress.
Our goal is to achieve zero TCIR, and we pursue this through our robust management infrastructure.
In 2024, we recorded approximately 150 lost workdays due to work-related injuries, reinforcing our commitment to continuous safety improvements.
Beyond safety, we are committed to fostering a positive work environment through our Welfare Policy, which includes:
- Happy Welfare – organizing events, team-building activities, and providing employee gifts.
- Supportive Welfare – assisting employees with personal and family matters, including preparation for pension and retirement.
We prioritize our employees’ mental well-being and, when needed, fully cover the cost of psychological treatment to support them.
Employee Development and Empowerment
Our Career Development Policy guides our commitment to enhancing employees’ skills, knowledge, and experience, enabling them to grow within their roles and advance within the organization. By aligning individual career aspirations with organizational goals, we ensure mutual growth and success.
In today’s dynamic business environment, where employee retention and engagement are critical to maintaining a competitive edge, investing in career development programs has never been more essential.
We conduct an annual performance review for all employees and offer a range of training programs, including:
- Compliance training (e.g., safety, workplace harassment prevention, safe driving, IT security, etc.).
- Internal and external professional development opportunities.
- Support for academic studies based on employees’ potential and capabilities.
Additionally, we run an organizational leadership program to develop middle-level managers and support a managerial development program for frontline managers.
In 2024, we invested an average of 11 training hours per employee, reinforcing our commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.
Internal Mobility and Growth
In 2024, internal mobility accounted for 3% of all promotions, including 2% to management roles. The company has embarked on a long-term journey to strengthen internal career opportunities, recognizing that geographical dispersion across sites may influence promotion dynamics. Believing in potential over experience, Aquestia is committed to helping its people grow and develop professionally and expects internal promotion rates to continue rising in the years ahead.
The company aims to strengthen internal mobility and career development through both lateral and vertical advancement pathways. By the end of 2030, we target:
- 3%-5% lateral movements, equivalent to approximately 15-25 cross-functional transitions across the organization; and
- 4% vertical promotions, representing 20 upward career advancements.
These targets reflect our commitment to nurturing talent, enhancing employee growth opportunities, and building a resilient, future-ready workforce.
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at Aquestia
At Aquestia, diversity and inclusion (D&I) are core values that drive innovation, employee satisfaction, and overall organizational success. We are committed to fostering a workplace that embraces diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.
Our Promoting Diversity and Inclusion Policy guides our efforts to recruit, retain, and empower a diverse workforce. Inclusion ensures that all employees, regardless of their differences, feel valued, respected, and empowered to contribute to the company’s success.
Additionally, we have an Employment of Women and People with Disabilities Policy to ensure continuous progress in these important areas.
Our top management forum currently includes 17 women out of 48 senior leaders, representing a 33% female leadership share.
To achieve our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) goals, we have set a target to reach 35% women in management roles by the end of 2028 and have updated our internal policies and procedures to support this commitment.
Our Recruitment Policy ensures a fair, inclusive, and transparent hiring process, allowing all individuals to apply without discrimination based on religion, race, age, gender, marital status, or socioeconomic background. Recruitment decisions are made in alignment with the professional requirements of the role and the candidates’ abilities, ensuring the right person is placed in the right position at the right time.
We are committed to promoting equality and advancing equal pay for women and men, which is currently as of end of 2024 approximately 90%.
Our workforce demographics reflect our dedication to diversity and inclusion:
- While women comprise 21% of our employees, 17% of them hold managerial positions.
- Approximately 68% of employees are over 40, with 18% over 60.
- Employees with disabilities make up 8% of our total workforce.
- Minorities represent 4% of our workforce.
Responsible Procurement
The company has established a Supplier Code of Conduct and conducts ESG assessments for its material suppliers. It also actively engages with suppliers owned by vulnerable groups and prioritizes collaboration with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), helping promote responsible and sustainable practices throughout the supply chain.
Transparency and Reporting
The company promotes transparency as a key way to build trust in its operations. Its activities are published on this website. In addition, information is shared on our parent company, MATHolding, where the annual ESG report and materiality assessment are also available.
